Dr. Bing Wang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Aeronautical and Aviation Engineering at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He obtained his DPhil/PhD degree in 2022 from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Oxford. His research interests broadly lie in the design of intelligent perception solutions for autonomous systems, and the development of reliable 3D scene understanding algorithms on mobile robotics operating in the real world.

Dr. Zijian Zhang received his Bachelor degree in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from the Department of Modern Mechanics, University of Science and Technology of China in 2015, and his PhD degree in Fluid Mechanics from Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2020. Before joining the Department of Aeronautical and Aviation Engineering as a Research Assistant Professor, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the same department.

Dr. Tianqi Wang received his BEng degree in Flight Vehicle Design and Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology, China in 2017 and PhD degree in Mechanical and Automation Engineering (MAE) from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in 2021. Before joining the Department of Aeronautical and Aviation Engineering at PolyU, he was respectively a Research Assistant and a Postdoctoral Fellow at Department of MAE of CUHK from August 2021 to March 2022 and from April 2022 to October 2022. His research interests include various advanced control methodologies of aircraft and spacecraft systems as well as mobile robots, including cooperative control, adaptive control, sliding mode control, model predictive control, and event-triggered control. He has been invited three times to contribute papers on the topic of event-triggered control at invited sessions of IEEE Conference on Decision and Control and IFAC World Congress. Dr Wang is a Member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

Dr. Zhengtong Li

Dr. Zhengtong Li received his BEng degree in Energy and Power Engineering in 2015 and his MEng degree in Engineering Thermophysics in 2018 from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He was awarded a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2021. Before his current position as a Research Assistant Professor with the Department of Aeronautical and Aviation Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow with the same institution from 2021 to 2023. His current research interests include 1) AI4CFD and its application to practical engineering problems, 2) Thermal management based on Reinforcement Learning (RL) and Real-time CFD, 3) sports aerodynamics and advanced sports product design, and 4) future smart cities and urban sustainability.

Dr Peixu Guo obtained BEng and PhD degrees from Beihang University in China, graduating with honors such as National Scholarship and Outstanding Graduates Award. He joined Department of Aeronautical and Aviation Engineering (AAE), The Hong Kong Polytechnic University as a Postdoctoral Fellow in 2022. He is now a Research Assistant Professor in AAE. His main research areas include stability and laminar-turbulent transition of high-speed flows.

Dr. Boyang Li is currently a Lecturer in Aerospace Systems Engineering at the School of Engineering, University of Newcastle. Between 2020 and 2023, he was a Research Assistant Professor at the Department of Aeronautical and Aviation Engineering (AAE), Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), where he founded the Autonomous Aerial Systems Laboratory (AASL). Before that, he had been a postdoctoral researcher at the Air Traffic Management Research Institute (ATMRI), Nanyang Technology University (NTU), Singapore and the Soft Systems Group, University of Edinburgh, UK during 2019 and 2020. He received the PhD degree at the High-speed Thermo-fluid and MAV/UAV Laboratory (HTML) of PolyU, Hong Kong and the B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees in Aeronautical Engineering from Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU), China.

Dr. Yu Li received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Control Science and Engineering from Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi’an, China, in 2016, 2019, and 2023, respectively. He was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the City University of Hong Kong before joining HKPolyU. His current research interests include control theory applications, fault diagnosis, and fault-tolerant control, as well as guidance, navigation, and control of UAVs.

Dr. Kang Liu received the Ph.D. degree in control science and engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, China, in 2022. He was with the Department of Computer Science, University of Sheffield, Sheffield, U.K. as a Postdoctoral Researcher prior to his appointment at HKPolyU. His research interests include theoretical researches and engineering applications in intelligence control algorithms and precision agriculture systems, such as deep learning, fuzzy control and neural networks for unmanned aerial vehicles, spacecraft dynamics, and autonomous vehicles, drone remote sensing, agricultural big data, and pest and disease identification.

Dr. Ken Chun Kit Uy received the Ph.D. degree in the Mechanical Engineering from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, HKSAR, in 2021. His research interests include the theoretical and numerical researches in boundary layer transition stability and control, detonation stability and nonequilibrium flow.

Dr. Lisong Shi received the Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2018, respectively. He joined Department of Aeronautical and Aviation Engineering at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University as a Postdoctoral Fellow since January 2021. His current research interests are in the areas of fundamental detonation physics and propulsion, Conservation Element and Solution Element methods, and adaptive mesh refinement.

Dr. Zongnan Chen received the Ph.D. degree in the Mechanical Engineering from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, HKSAR, in 2023. He currently serves as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Aeronautical and Aviation Engineering at HKPolyU. His research primarily delved into experimental fluid mechanics, complemented by computational fluid dynamics investigations. The research topics mainly focus on the applications of plasma actuators.

Dr. Qingyang Meng received his PhD degree from Harbin Engineering University in 2021 with focus on rotating detonation engine. He served as a CSC doctoral student in National University of Singapore during 2019-2020. He continued his work in National University of Singapore Chongqing Research Institute as a research fellow. Meanwhile, he enrolled the postdoctoral workstation of Chongqing University and completed the postdoctoral research in 2024 before joining AAE in PolyU. His research interest includes multi-phase detonation, supersonic combustion, and combustion instability in liquid rocket engine.
